Essential Arts Information

Essential Arts in Middle school consists of 4 courses, each taking place over the course of one Marking Period. Students will rotate what Essential Art they are currently taking throughout the year. Our Essential Arts classroom opportunities include Technology Education, Family Consumer Science, Agricultural Education and either Art or Music. When possible, students are scheduled with their choice of Art or Music pending class sizes and schedule availability.

Chorus in Middle school is a year long course which takes the place of an Essential Arts rotation. Students must request to be in chorus prior to being scheduled for the class. Please contact the Guidance Office or Ms. Cannon with any questions, maureen.cannon@cr.k12.de.us. 

6th Grade Band in Middle School is a pull-out program during the school day for 6th grade students who would like to learn to play a band instrument for the first time. Please see the link on the right for more information directly related to 6th grade students. 

7th Graders and 8th Graders have the opportunity to take Band as their Essential Arts class. This would be a year long class and would take the place of our Essential Arts Rotation. Please contact Maureen Cannon, maureen.cannon@cr.k12.de.us with any questions.
