FMS 2017-18 School year

BPA Group 2018
The BPA State Leadership Conference took place 2/28. 25 middle schools across Delaware competed in 12 main events. Fifer came home with 6 medals in 6 events.

Caleb Anthony--State Champion in Entrepreneurship Exploration. Lyric Abdul-Rasheed & Emma Higgins --2nd place Web Site Design Team. Emma Higgins--3rd place Keyboarding Production. Alayna Gumpman--5th place Spreadsheet Applications. America Clouser--3rd place Entrepreneurship Exploration. America Clouser--State Champion in Prepared Speech.These 5 students earned an invitation to the National Leadership Conference in Dallas, TX.
FMS Honor Band 2018
This was taken at Kent Honor Band performance on February 9th and 10th.
FMS Honor Choir 17-18
These seven girls represented Fifer at the ACDA Honor Choir Festival was held March 2nd and 3rd.
FMS Read To Succeed Contest Winners 17-18
Teacher, Michele Waite, and her 7th grade content class have won the Achieve 3000 "Read To Succeed" Contest, a school-wide race toward accelerated literacy achievement!
FMS Enrichment Activity 17-18
A group of 8th graders learning about therapy horses "Miracle" & "Majesty" during Mrs. Harfeld's enrichment time on Friday, January 19th.
FMS Science Olympiad 17-18
Congratulations to the Fifer Science Olympiad team for a great showing at the State Competition on Saturday, 3/17/18! They received medals in Solar System; Battery Buggy; and GOLD medal in Mystery Architecture. The whole FMS team also earned Best in Kent County!
FMS Spelling Bee Winners 17-18
Here is Jade Buan (2nd place, 7th grader) and Alana Hayes (1st place, 6th grader) after winning the school-wide spelling bee.
Odyssey of the Mind 17-18
The problem is called mockumentary! Six FMS young men won second place in the ocean regional and are headed to states in 2 weeks. This was the Odyssey of the Mind competition Ocean Regional competition that was held in Laurel on March 3, 2018.

This is our FMS All-State Chorus group with conductor Jim Papoulis who performed on February 22nd - 24th.
